Electron beam evaporation system
For special transparent barrier, high quality decorative, or security application.

The TOPBEAM™ platform using electron beam evaporation, offers a solution for applying transparent coatings with improved clear barrier performance for a variety of oxide materials, such as AlOx and SiOx with up to 2850mm coating width.



The TopMet CLEAR system offers two advanced AlOx processes:

• The AlOx-ECON process minimizes capital cost while producing 20nm thin, clear barrier coatings on PET substrates.
• The AlOx-HAD process uses a plasma-assisted deposition, developed in conjunction with the Fraunhofer Institute FEP in Germany, depositing 10nm thin layers with excellent barrier properties on a wide range of plastic packaging films.

HAD offers increased, unique layer robustness for downstream and retort converting steps.

The TOPCOIL™ platform complements Applied Materials’ evaporation portfolio with induction heated crucible technology. This is a solution for applications demanding aggressive, low defect performance and also enables depositing a wide range of materials.
